The advantages of registering is that your old friends can contact you directly via email, MSN or whatever means of contact information you wish to have shown on your profile page. I would strongly advise against listing phone numbers. Address may be a bit risky as well. Just a general descriptin of the area in which you live would suffice.
Some may not remember you. Chalk that up to old age and poor long term memory but, there are those who surprisingly do remember you even though you may not remember them, due to your bad long term memory. In any event it is always nice to know someone remembers you from thirty plus years ago.
You will have noticed the user login and password area in the left hand column of this site. That presently does not function as it should but I'm working on that. It is my hopes (no promises though) that verified alumni members will be able to log into the site and change their information on their own profile page. This is a bit tricky to accomplish but I hope to have it up and operational in the near future. It will be a secure login so no other alumni will have the ability to change anything but their own page.
The' Event' buttons will be linked to events that Alumni may have planned. Possibly a reunion, should anyone out there feel up to the challenge or, maybe just a gathering of local alumni for a night out but would like others to know about it should they be in the area on that date.
Right now they just point to spare pages.
